One script, any kind of video
Most script generators give you a wall of text. This one gives you a script that is already split into scenes, timed for the length you pick, and written to be read aloud. Describe the video the way you would to a friend, including who it's for, and the tool adapts:
| You type | You get |
|---|---|
| "How vaccines train your immune system, a lesson for 12 year olds" | A step-by-step lesson with an everyday example, in simple words |
| "How to change a bike tyre" | Clear steps in order, plus one common mistake to avoid |
| "Our app sends a reminder before a bill is due. Call to action: try it at example.com" | A product explainer that opens with the problem and uses only your details |
| "The fall of the Western Roman Empire, 3 minutes" | A story with a beginning, a turn and an ending |
How long should a video script be?
People speak at about 2.4 words per second in a natural narration voice, a little slower in Urdu. The tool writes to that budget so the video lands close to the length you choose:
| Length | About this many words | Scenes |
|---|---|---|
| 30 seconds | 70 | 3 to 4 |
| 60 seconds | 145 | 5 to 7 |
| 90 seconds | 215 | 8 to 10 |
| 2 minutes | 290 | 11 to 13 |
| 3 minutes | 430 | 16 to 19 |
What the format means
The script starts with a few header lines (title:, language:, theme:, music:, kicker:). Then each # line starts a scene: # hook for the opening, # headline: ... for each main scene, an optional # stat: ... | label: ... scene for one striking number, and # outro. The text under each line is the narration. If you only want a voice-over script to read yourself, ignore the lines that start with #.
Check it, then make the video
Read the script once before you use it. The tool is told to use only well-known facts and to leave out anything it isn't sure of, but you know your subject and your audience best. Change any sentence you like.
Then copy it, open the studio and paste it in. ContentRoof records a natural voice in the script's language, adds word-by-word captions, and illustrates every sentence with animated line drawings. Places become a globe that flies to them, years become a timeline, and a big number counts up. Pick vertical 9:16 for Shorts, 16:9 for YouTube or square, and download the MP4 with no watermark. Writing and previewing are free with no sign-up; downloading needs a free Google sign-in.
Questions
How long can the script be?
Up to 3 minutes of narration, which is about 430 words in English. That is also the longest video ContentRoof makes.
Which languages are supported?
English, Urdu, Hindi, Arabic, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Italian and Russian. The script comes back in the language's own script.
Can it write a lesson or a product explainer?
Yes. Say so in the description, for example "a lesson for 12 year olds" or "a product explainer, call to action: visit example.com", and the script follows that shape. For products it only uses the details you give.
Is the video script generator free?
Yes, free and without sign-up, with a fair-use limit per hour.
