What you get
One complete script for a YouTube Short, TikTok or Reel, written in the format ContentRoof reads. It looks like this:
title: Three Hearts, Blue Blood
language: English
theme: ocean
music: wonder
kicker: NATURE IN 45 SECONDS
# hook
An octopus has *three hearts*, and one of them stops when it swims.
# headline: Two hearts for the gills
Two small hearts push blood through the gills, where it picks up oxygen.
# stat: 3 | label: hearts in every octopus
...
# outro
So next time you see an octopus resting, its third heart is working. Follow for more.
The header lines set the title, language, colour theme and music mood. Each # line starts a scene: the hook, the headline scenes, an optional number scene, and the outro. The text under each line is what the voice reads.
What makes a good Shorts script
- The hook is the video. Most viewers decide in the first two seconds. A good hook is a surprising fact, a question they want answered, or a claim that sounds wrong but is true. "An octopus has three hearts" beats "Today we're talking about octopuses".
- One idea per scene. Each scene holds one sentence or two, about 5 to 10 seconds. Short scenes keep the picture changing, which keeps people watching.
- Concrete words. "A grain of rice" can be drawn; "a significant factor" can't. The tool prefers things, places, years and numbers, because ContentRoof turns them into drawings, maps, timelines and counters.
- An ending that loops. The outro points back to the hook, so a viewer who reaches the end often watches again.
- The right length. Narration runs at about 2.4 words per second (a little slower in Urdu), so a 45 second Short is about 105 words. The tool writes to that budget.
Always read the facts before you publish. The tool is told to use only well-documented facts and to leave out anything uncertain, but you know your topic best.
Turn the script into a video in one click
Copy the script, open the studio and paste it in. The preview updates as you type: a natural voice reads every scene, captions appear word by word, and animated line drawings trace themselves on as the words are spoken. Places become a flying globe, years become a timeline and the stat scene becomes a counter. You can change any line, the voice, the music or the drawing for a scene, then download the MP4 with no watermark. Writing and previewing are free with no sign-up; downloading needs a free Google sign-in.
Ideas that work well as Shorts
| Topic type | Example hook |
|---|---|
| Science | "Sunlight takes about 8 minutes to reach your eyes, so you always see the Sun's past." |
| History | "The Great Wall isn't one wall. It's many walls, built over about 2,000 years." |
| Nature | "A blue whale's tongue can weigh as much as an elephant." |
| How-to | "Peel a boiled egg in 5 seconds with one glass of water." |
Questions
Is the Shorts script generator free?
Yes. It's free with no sign-up, with a fair-use limit per hour so it stays fast for everyone.
Which languages can it write in?
English, Urdu, Hindi, Arabic, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Italian and Russian. Each script comes back in the language's own script, for example Urdu in Nastaliq and Hindi in Devanagari.
Can I use the script without ContentRoof?
Yes. The narration under each scene line is a normal voice-over script you can read yourself or use in any editor. The header and # lines are only there so ContentRoof can animate it.
How long should a YouTube Short script be?
About 70 words for 30 seconds and about 145 words for 60 seconds, at a natural speaking pace. Pick the length and the tool keeps to that budget.
