From "une idée" to a finished video
French-speaking audiences span France, Belgium, Switzerland, Quebec and much of West and North Africa. Whether you run a vulgarisation channel, teach French or explain your product, the production steps are the same: script, voice, captions, visuals, music. ContentRoof does all of them from one line.
The AI drafts the script in English for accuracy, then translates it into natural French. A natural French neural voice reads it with word timing. Captions follow each word, and line drawings trace themselves on as the matching words are spoken.
Why the 16:9 format suits French YouTube
French YouTube has many longer explainers in science, history and culture. Besides vertical Shorts, ContentRoof makes 16:9 videos up to 3 minutes: the narration text sits on the left and the animation on the right, which reads well on a laptop or TV. Export a thumbnail from the opening title card and you have a complete upload.

Topics that work in French
- Histoire: the Revolution, Napoleon's campaigns, the building of Paris, with each year landing on a clock or a timeline that draws itself.
- Science: the scale of the universe with a powers-of-ten zoom, light through a prism, the atom.
- Économie: prices, wages or populations over time, with your own numbers in the data story mode.
- Langue française: short lessons for learners, ending with a quiz (question, options, a 3-2-1 countdown, the answer in green).
- Francophone Africa: geography and history of West and Central Africa. Write "de Dakar à Abidjan" and the globe frames both cities, dropping a pin on each as it's named.
Tips for French narration
- Tu or vous? The AI writes in a friendly neutral register. Switch to "tu" for a casual TikTok tone or keep "vous" for teaching and business.
- Length. As a starting point, aim for about 140 to 160 words for a 60-second Short, then check the length in the preview.
- Numbers. French writes 1 000 with a space and 3,5 with a comma. For a number that counts up on screen, write it without the space (1000, or "3 millions"), and listen to the preview to check how it's read.
- Watch long sentences. Written French tolerates long, elegant sentences; spoken French in a Short doesn't. Split them.
- One idea per paragraph, so every scene gets its own picture.
The post kit writes French titles, a description, tags, hashtags and a LinkedIn post from the same script. See all languages, or the German and Italian pages for other European markets.
