Exports carry on while ContentRoof updates

If we update ContentRoof while your video is being made, it now waits and finishes instead of saying it was interrupted.

We update ContentRoof often, sometimes several times a day. Each update restarts the server for a short moment.

The server already saved every export in progress and started it again after a restart, under the same id. But the app in your browser did not know that. During the restart it got a "service unavailable" answer, treated it as a failure, showed "This export was interrupted" and stopped checking. The server usually went on to finish the video, but the page no longer showed it.

Now:

  • A restart is a wait, not a failure. While the server restarts, the app shows "ContentRoof is updating, your video carries on" and keeps checking for up to 10 minutes. Only a clear "this export doesn't exist" ends it.
  • Starting an export during an update retries for about a minute and a half instead of failing.
  • Asking twice is safe. If you start the same script again while it is being made, the server joins the two requests into one export.
  • Old messages are put right. If your browser marked an export as failed but the server still has it running or finished, the app corrects it the next time you open it.

You don't need to do anything. Exports already in your Videos list are unchanged.
